Christopher Killer by Alane Ferguson

As the daughter of a Colorado County coroner, seventeen-year-old Cameryn Mahoney is no stranger to death. In fact, she's always been fascinated by the science of it. So she's thrilled to finally get some hands-on experience in forensics working as her father's assistant. But Cammie is in for more than she bargained for when the second case that she attends turns out to be someone she knows-the latest victim of a serial killer known as the Christopher Killer. And if dealing with that isn't hard enough, Cammie soon realizes that if she's not careful, she might wind up as the killer's next victim....

I chose this book because the cover looked kind of creepy and interesting and I read what it was about and I thought it would be cool to read about a wierd murderer and crime scenes. Even though I am not a big fan of science and crime books, I thought I would try it out.

I don't relate to the characters of the book at all. I am not like the main character Cameryn because I do not like forensic stuff and I get really light-headed around blood and guts and that kind of stuff. That kind of stuff creeps me out and makes me uncomfortable. Cameryn is really into that kind of stuff, and by the end of the book, she finds out who killed her friend, Rachel.

I would say that this book was worthy of being on this tear's Abe list. It's really good and makes you keep wanting to turn the page. I always wanted to know what would happen next, who was the killer and all that stuff. It made you keep guessing who was murdering all these people and leaving St. Christopher badges on his victims. It's a very chilling book.

I chose this book because I enjoy stories that revolve around solving a mystery. I like the T.V. shows CSI: Miami and this book seems to be very similar because both of them contain forensic science. By reading this book I hope that I learn more about the process that goes into solving a murder.

1. I chose this novel because I might want to go into forensics as a career, and I found the subject very interesting to me. I love mysteries and this book sounded like a good combination of both.
2. I relate to Cameryn a lot because like her I like the study of forensics and I would love to have her kind of job. She stuck to her gut feeling when she had to make hard decisions and I respect that.
3. I definitely agree that this book is worthy of being on the Abe list because it kept me wanting to know more about the story. The story was very intriguing and kept me guessing different suspects for the crime, and I was very surprised in the end. It is a well written book.

I am having a hard time relating to the main character Cameryn. Although I enjoy observing other people solve forensic mysteries (ex. T.V. shows, other books, etc.), I do not share the same passion that Cameryn has for getting involved in real forensic situations. Also, Cameryn's family functions much differently than mine mainly because her grandmother lives with her and I can't quite imagine this happening in my life. This makes it difficult to connect to the emotions that she feels towards her family. Basically, I am enjoying the book but I am having trouble making personal connections to the main character.

1. I chose this book because it had mystery and it had suspense in it.
2. I do not relate to the character.
3. I personally was not a fan of the book. I like a lot of suspense where this book had a lower level of suspense. For me it didn't grab my attention, but it was well written.

1. I chose this book because I am interested in forensics and since this book was a mystery book with some forensic aspects to it it seemed perfect for me. I love crime scene investigation and the book turned out to be perfect for me.
2. I definitely relate to Cameryn because I have been thinking about going into the forensic field so I had a lot of common interests with her. I respected that she always stuck to what she thought was best when she had to make a difficult decision.
3.This book is very worthy of being on the Abe list because I never wanted to stop reading it. At the end of each chapter I always wanted to read ahead because it left me hanging. Also it kept me guessing who the murderer was and I was wrong multiple times. The murderer was a surprise to me, so this book was written pretty well.

1. I wanted to read something that would keep me hanging. Sometimes books can be entertaining but not addicting. Since this a mystery book, i thought this book contain both aspect of what a good book should be.

2. I personally don't relate to any of the characters in this book. I don't enjoy doing forensic stuff. I couldn't imagine myself looking at dead bodies and solving murder mysteries. I would have nightmares everyday just thinking about it. that is why throughout the book, i had a hard time relating to the main character. I think Cameryn is really brave throughout the book. She stuck to what she believed throughout the end and she took so many risks. I personally couldn't have done many of the brave things cameryn has done throughout the book.
3. I do believe this book should be on the Abe's list. It was a quick, interesting read. The story was unpredictable, so i couldn't stop turning the pages. Unlike other mystery books i read in the past, this book was both entertaining and addicting. Also, the main character was about our age, so i believe teen readers could connect more to the characters. This book has a smart and intriguing plot. Also, it doesn't have a predictable, phony ending like other teen-fiction books. It has depth, which is a essential aspect to all good novels.

I do think this book deserves to be an ABE book but certain parts of the story were underdeveloped. I did enjoy how the book made it seem like different characters were the killer at different points in the book. This aspect of the book made me want to keep turning the pages. I think that most people would find this book very interesting because of the twists in the plot. However, the book lacked details at certain points in the novel. For example, the relationship Cameryn had with her mother was hidden by the mystery because it was not mentioned enough.

i can sort of relate to this charecter because of her liking of science. Asa a teenager being an investigator like that is very interesting and is kind of a dream for some people. She has to miss school and everything and you can relate to her troubles. She has issues with some friends and has to work them out. She doubts her friends and has many issues. She is very alike to many stereotypical teenagers.

I think that the book should be on the list for multiple reasons. Christopher Killer is an exhilarating story and is very suspenseful. I love reading mysteries so this book was an easy pick for me, and there are not always good mysteries in the book selection. I think it is important to have a vast selection in order to allow students to read what they are interested in. To anyone who likes mysteries this book is excellent. Lastly, don't judge a book by its cover, just because the main character is a girl, it suits both boys and girls wonderfully.

I chose The Christopher Killer because I am very fascinated by mystery and action books, especially ones including murder. I have read Aftershock which also contains death and action, so I figured this book would be just as good being on the Abe Award list. I love stories that are very personal, this being that Cameryn, the main character, knows someone who has been murdered by the Christopher Killer.

I can relate to the main character Cameryn because she is really interested with autopsies and must get involved with the case once she finds out that her friend is a victim as well. I really enjoy kind of action and want to become a doctor one day, and I am looking into forensics too as my friend’s mom does the same thing as Cameryn’s dad. I also enjoy getting involved with things when they involve me personally. I really understood how she always trusted her gut feelings as I do the same thing when faced in difficult situations. I also liked how she was courageous through the whole novel, even finding out that her friend is the killer (complete shock).

The Christopher Killer combines all that I like in a novel. I would not change a thing, and that is why I thing it has its rightful place on the Abe Award list. It is unpredictable and always has you guessing who the killer is with a complete surprise ending. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes mysteries and even some family relations too.

1. I choose to read this book because my friend told me that he really liked it. He said that it kept him intrested and so I decided I would try it out. I read a few pages and found out that i started to really like this book.

2. I can not relate to the main character Cameryn because I would not be able to look at dead people and do all the things that she did. I get creeped out but that stuff. Its cool watching it on tv, but it would be too much in real life.

3. I think this book is worthy of the ABE list because it is very suspensful and it kept me reading for more. I liked reading this book so i think it is very worthy of this list.
